The UPS is prepared but rarely needs to provide power from battery, as the Automatic Transfer Switch ensures that a standby generator comes online promptly in the event of an outage.

5. Standby Generator
The factory-new 750.000-watt Caterpillar diesel generator provides emergency power for the facility, in the event of utility outages. Started by Automatic Transfer Switch this generator can power the data center indefinitely.

6. Fire Suppression System
The automatic fire suppression system uses distributed sensors to determine when there is danger of fire or smoke conditions and it is programmed for automatic fire suppression in case of emergency. It is equally important that the fire suppression system is designed to smother fires without damaging electronic equipment.
